What it is
A small, fast USB solid-state drive. Tesla's dashcam and Sentry Mode won't record without a drive plugged into the glovebox port, and it needs to be a quick one.
How we use it
- It lives in the glovebox port full time. Every saved clip, honk-to-save and Sentry event lands on it.
- When the drive fills up the car doesn't stop recording, it quietly writes over the oldest footage. That's why I upgraded to a bigger drive: I don't have to keep rushing to save things off it.
- Anything I really want to keep I still copy to my phone or computer.
