What it is
An inexpensive cleaning kit made for coated eyeglasses: a lens-safe spray plus a few microfiber cloths. It turns out to be exactly what you want for the little exposed camera lenses on a Tesla.
How we use it
- Tesla's own advice for the camera lenses is a soft cloth and water, so gentle is the rule. This kit is gentle and it's always within reach.
- When the camera preview looks hazy, or the car complains a camera is blocked, I give the lens a light spray and wipe it carefully so I don't scratch it.
- In winter it comes out more often. Some cameras have heaters and some don't, and the ones that don't get grimy fast.
